If I told you I had the oiliest skin in the world, I’m sure you wouldn’t believe me. I have very oily skin. Trust me.

I blot my forehead and cheeks with that brown paper towel in public bathrooms every chance I get, maybe then you would trust and believe what I’m going through.

Having oily skin is hard, especially if you are in front of people all day long.

One day, while I was only a few hours into my day of teaching, one of my students asked me why was I sweating.

I thought for a few minutes, why is he asking me this?

I knew I wasn’t sweating. For the most part, I’m cold 9 times out of 10. I do sweat a lot but under the normal sweating circumstances of sweat, like at the gym. Remember, I was teaching class and that wasn’t a normal circumstance. But I finally figured it out.

I wasn’t sweating at all…I was just oily.

That night, I went to Target and bought a couple of packs of blotting sheets. One to keep with me and one to take to work.

Otherwise, I do what any oily person does. Pat their face with whatever. I’ve used Kleenex, my arm, back of my hand, and even regular plain white paper at times. I just pat my entire face in between classes if I can a chance and I always keep some extra face powder in my desk.

But the first line of defense in terms of oiliness next to face lotion is a solid foundation. Especially for us full face makeup wearers. And I do wear a full face of make-up probably about 300 days out of the year.

I try a lot of different foundations, and pick up samples and see what works best for my skin. I love full coverage matte foundations because the full coverage will last beyond the oils of my face. And the matte finish will try and hopefully keep me matte.

I know a lot of oily skin make-up wearers do not like full coverage make-up. They are especially against this during summer months but if you don’t want your make-up to slip I suggest you give it a try.

I just wanted to give an Honorable Mention to a product I just recently purchased: the NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop super matte 24-hour foundation AND Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r by Rihanna. Both are made for us with the oiliest skin and I love them! I’ve heard claims that they were too matte…and if that is the case, you do not have very oily skin!
