I may be just a small-time influencer in a big-time world. If an influencer at all. But I write reviews here and there in exchange for free goods.  Nevertheless, this is how it all begins for influencers.

Beyond the advice and influence I give in my own classroom, I had dreams and visions of making YouTube videos. I kept planning to put myself out there more. I would make videos but then find something wrong and immediately press delete.  I wasn’t as confident as I thought I was.

But who was I kidding anyway?  I’m really an introvert and when I found blogging, I knew this was the behind the scenes stuff I should’ve always planned to do. I loved writing and if you read my back story, being a writer was my first career choice in life.

Within a part of being a blogger, I decided that I will start my quest to become an influencer. I did a bit of research and as a Capricorn, I research everything before I settle on something…anything for that matter.

First, I jumped on YouTube, Google searched, and read various blogs on where to start. I did a basic search of “free stuff for reviews.” I knew I only wanted to join a couple of influencer marketing agencies. This was so I can get my feet wet and make sure I meet all expectations.

Influenster Review

In my research, I found an app/website called Influenster. I immediately signed up. The process was simple.

First, you giving basic info about yourself. Then it goes into more detail, like what kind of skin you have, what are your undertones, to your hair type and color of eyes. You then link your social media accounts to your Influenster account so your reviews can be spread across to your followers/subscribers. This will give you an impact score that reveals how many people you impact with your review personally.

With Influenster I found out, that by just reviewing various products on their site you can get full-size free stuff just to review! These are things you already use and maybe stuff you want to try like make-up, lotions, hair products, technology equipment,  stuff for your pets and even butter-yes like butter for bread, lol!

How to Get Free Box From Influenster

After about a month of writing reviews on the Influenster site, I received my first freebie from Influenster to review. It was L’Oreal’s Revitalift Cicacream. I tried it out and wrote my first review. Then the free stuff kept coming.

Next, I received the Marc Jacobs Shameless Foundation and finally my first Spark VoxBox where you receive multiple full-size products.

My box included Swisspers Make-up Removal Wipes (which I love), Pantene Conditioner Foam, Pure Silk Spa Razor, and Live Clean Coconut Lotion. I received all these products free just to try out and give my personal review.

A few months later, I received my 2nd VoxBox and which was the Aquis Prime Hair Care System.

The key to getting more free stuff from Influenster is to answer their email surveys, update your account weekly, and write reviews on items you already have!

I know my influencer game isn’t leading me to make a living. But this gives a little boost in my overall part-time work as a blogger. I hope to someday make more of a splash in the influencer world and you can too.
